Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy describes the application served as Star Trek: Outposts Unknown Wiki at https://startrekoutpostsunknown.org. We do not request game account credentials, Steam or Discord passwords, payment details or private verification codes.

Preferences and technical data

The application stores your theme preference in local storage and may store a language preference cookie. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand page views, referrals and general device and browser information on the production website. Google Analytics may use analytics cookies. You can clear or restrict cookies through your browser settings.

Google processes analytics information under its own privacy policies. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our Google tag configuration. Our empty advertising placeholders do not serve ads. The hosting provider may process technical request data, including IP addresses and browser details, to deliver pages and protect the service.

Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity on the production website to understand how visitors interact with pages through heatmaps and session replays, including clicks, scrolling and navigation. Clarity processes usage and device information and may use cookies according to its regional consent settings. Sensitive page content is masked using the project’s masking settings.

Microsoft processes this information under the Microsoft Privacy Statement (https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement). We do not send game account credentials or custom personal identifiers to Clarity. The application does not automatically grant cookie consent on your behalf.

Embedded video and external websites

The homepage uses a local preview image. Opening its video player connects your browser to YouTube through youtube-nocookie.com. Some guide pages also include embedded videos that can connect when a page loads. Privacy-enhanced playback is still a third-party service and does not mean that no data is processed.

Links to Playstack, Steam, Discord, Reddit, X, YouTube and cited sources take you to services governed by their own privacy policies and terms. We do not control their processing.

Questions

Use the Contact page for available website contact channels and privacy or correction requests. Do not send account passwords, payment information or verification codes. Official game support is separate from this fan-made website.
